Our History
The SS Peter & Paul Choral Group was founded in May 1971 by Josephine Noll and her daughter Mary (Noll) Marzen. Starting with a group of teens and six guitars, we provided music for weekly Masses held in our Parish School Hall. In those early years, in addition to doing Masses in our home parish, we went “on the road” and shared our music with different parishes in our Diocese. There have been scores of members and many changes over the years. Today our group has only one guitar and a bass, as well as a piano, and our members are not just older, but have matured like fine wine. Josephine and Mary are still leading the group along with Mary’s husband Carl. Our members today, range in age from the youngest in their twenties to the eldest members in their eighties, and many of them have been with us for over 20 years. No matter what our age, the Spirit keeps us alive to continue our ministry of giving praise to God through our music.
